January 2021 Presidents Letter

We want to wish everyone a happy holiday season and say thank you for your contributions this year. We appreciate all of your patience and hard work! Here are some important and impressive facts we want to share:

Our membership logged over 1,300 hours from August - December, 2020.

This is truly amazing during such a short period of time, given our volunteer opportunities were limited due to the effects of Covid.

  • The 1,300 hours reflect 85% productivity vs. last year at this time. We are pleased that we have been able to continue our support of local philanthropies while following strict Santa Clara County Health Department guidelines.

  • Our total membership count stands at 357 members. There are currently 189 boys/siblings and 168 parents enrolled in SLOBs. We have 67 new members this year, without a membership drive of any kind last spring.

The next SLOBs General Member Meeting is Sunday, January 24, 2021. Dr. Ramsey Khasho, Chief Clinical Officer and Licensed Clinical Psychologist will be speaking on mental health during the pandemic. He has over 20 years of experience evaluating and treating children, teens and families. We hope this timely and helpful discussion will guide our membership in 2021 and beyond.

Please don’t forget to log your volunteer hours. This is a necessary step to be a member in good standing. It also helps our philanthropy team in their understanding of our member’s level of interest in each philanthropy and how our service work is divided.

We wish all the best to our SLOBs membership and look forward to a very productive and satisfying New Year!
